Biography

Naveed Ahmed received the Ph.D. degree from Otto-von-Guerke University, Magdeburg, Germany, in 2011. He has been an Associate Professor with the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), since November 2023. Prior to this role, he was an Assistant Professor with GUST, from 2019 to 2023, and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), from 2018 to 2019. From 2013 to 2018, he was a Research Associate with the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), Berlin, Germany. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the University of Kassel, Germany, from 2011 to 2013. Since January 2024, he has been leading the Center for Applied Mathematics and Bioinformatics (CAMB). He has published numerous articles in prestigious journals, such as SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, and Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. His research interests include numerical analysis, scientific computing, stabilized finite element methods for convection-dominated problems, turbulent flows, and machine learning.
