Biography
Mohd Fadzil Hassan (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree (cum laude) in computer information systems from Colorado State University, USA, in 1999, and the M.Sc. degree in artificial intelligence and the Ph.D. degree in informatics from the University of Edinburgh, U.K., in 2001 and 2007, respectively. He was the former Dean of the Centre for Graduate Studies, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), where he is currently the Director of the Institute of Autonomous Systems. He is also an alumnus of the Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK). He has been involved in authoring more than 100 indexed publications. His research interests include artificial intelligence, multiagent systems, and service-oriented architecture (SOA). He is actively involved in research focusing on these areas and has received numerous research grants from the Malaysian government, including FRGS, ERGS, PRGS, and Technofund. He is also actively involved in international collaborative research, particularly with universities from the Middle East, South Korea, and the ASEAN region. He was an Executive Committee Member of the IEEE Computer Society Malaysia, in 2018.
