Biography

Leonardo G. Aburto was born in Talcahuano, Chile, in 1982. He received the B.S. degree in engineering and the civil engineering degree from the University of Concepcion, Concepcion, Chile, in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
He has held different engineering positions in the areas of energy and mining at Iberdrola, Santiago, Chile; Statkraft, Santiago; and BHP Billiton, Antofagasta, Chile. Since 2015, he has been a Project Engineer with the Department of Energy, Pöyry, Chile. His current research interests include modeling, simulation, optimization and technology for power generation, and distributed energy storage applications.
