Biography

Norman H. Chang (S'85–M'89) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1985, 1987, and 1990, respectively.
He was with Hewlett-Packard Labs, Palo Alto, CA, from 1990 to 2001. He was a project leader focusing on on-chip/off-chip interconnect modeling and simulation. He is now at Apache Design Solutions, Inc., as a cofounder and VP. He has three patents and 14 pending patents, and has published more than 39 technical papers in journals and conferences. He coauthored Interconnect Analysis and Synthesis (New York: Wiley) and contributed a chapter on Semiconductor Manufacturing Diagnosis to the 24-volume set of the EE Encyclopedia (New York: Wiley).
Dr. Chang received the Best Paper Award at the International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design in 2000. He served as a member of the technical committee of CICC conferences in 2000 and ISQED in 2000–2002.
