Biography
Svetlana Girs (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in telecommunications from Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University, Russia, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from Mälardalen University, Västerås, Sweden, in February 2016. She was a Visiting Researcher with the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, for a period of three months, in 2014. She is currently a Lecturer with the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering, Mälardalen University, where she leads the Networked and Embedded Systems Division. Her research interests include real-time communication, cooperative relay networks, and reliable wireless communication for industrial systems. She serves as the Co-Chair for the Subcommittee on Industrial Communication Systems, the IEEE IES Technical Committee on Factory Automation.
