Biography

Harry L. Hayes, III (M'88) received the B.S.E.E. degree from Washington University, St. Louis, MO, in 1978, and the M.A. degrees in business administration and finance from Webster University, St. Louis, in 1983.
Currently, he is a Consulting Engineer in the Distribution Standards Group with Ameren Corporation (formerly Union Electric Co.), St. Louis, where he has been since 1979 and has held various positions in distribution engineering. His work has included specialized projects in connectors, transformers, and cables.
Mr. Hayes is an active member of various IEEE Working Groups and Task Groups along with IEEE-ICC. He serves on the ANSI C119 Connector Committee, is the Vice-Chairman of ANSI C119.2 (IEEE 386 Standard for Separable Insulated Connector Systems for Power Distribution Systems Above 600 V), and is the Secretary/Vice-Chairman of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies Cable Engineering Committee.
