Biography

I. Gary Rosen (M'88) received the Sc.B. degree in mathematics in 1975, the Sc.M. degree in applied mathematics in 1976, and the Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in 1980, all from Brown University, Providence, RI.
From 1980 to 1983, he was an Assistant Professor of mathematics at Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME, and in 1984 he was Member of the Technical Staff at the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Cambridge, MA. Since 1984, he has been an Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor in the Center for Applied Mathematical Sciences (CAMS) in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. His research interests include control, estimation, and identification for distributed parameter systems, and modeling, control, estimation, simulation, and optimization for problems in materials science and space weather.
