Matching WCDMA site configuration with coverage and capacity requirements

Identifying appropriate WCDMA site configurations forms an important part of the radio planning process. The decision must be based upon coverage and capacity requirements as well as any implications upon cost and practicalities. The first part of this paper focuses upon the coverage and capacity aspects. Any cost or practical issues are noted. The second part of the paper illustrates how the site configurations may be applied to a radio network loaded with a typical WCDMA traffic profile.
