Introduction

After a successful series of three high-level EMC symposia held in Roma over 94, 96 and 98, the International Steering Committee decided to move into an European EMC symposium, to be held at other locations in Europe. For the millennium edition of 2000, the old Medieval town of Brugge (Belgium) has been chosen.
