A Comparison Between Improved Models for Transfer Impedance Calculations of Braided Coaxial Cable
The none-homogeneity construction of braided shields and the complexity in the way the external electromagnetic field penetrates the braid has presented difficulties in the attempts at modelling the transfer impedance and transfer admittance of such cables. Many authors worked on the calculation of these coupling parameters. Reference work was done by Shelkunoff [1], Kaden [2] and Vance [3]. Important contributions were presented by Tyni [4], Halme [5], Demoulin [6], Sali [7] and Kley [8] We propose a short summary of authors' s models and we try to adjust to reality by measuring the transfer impedance of a sample of braided coaxial cable in order to see which model give good agreements with experience.
