Interconnection of a large hydro power plant via HVDC and AC links with two remote grids
The authors describe the analysis of electromechanical transients in a large hydroelectric power plant interconnected via HVDC and AC links with two separate power systems. The investigation shows the dynamic behaviour of the total interconnected system on occurrence of faults in the HVDC and AC links. Special emphasis is given to the control of frequency deviations, damping of power swings and provision of reserve power on loss of generation. The simulation of the HVDC system is discussed.<>
